Full Diagnostic Laboratory

Full Diagnostic Laboratory

Mayflower Mobile Veterinary Services is proud to offer our clients a full in-house diagnostic laboratory.

Our in clinic lab machines can perform complete cell counts, complete chemistry panels including liver and kidney function tests, pancreatic enzymes, glucose, electrolytes, blood gasses, and ionized calcium.

We routinely perform the Snap 4DX in dogs which tests for Heartworm disease, Lyme, Ehrlichia canis and Anaplasma phagocytophilum.

Our feline leukemia and feline aids combination test is used on new kittens or adult cats new to a household.   We also use this test 4-6 months after an outdoor cat has a bite wound since 80% of adult cats that acquire feline aids obtain it from bites or scratches from cat fights.

Lab equipment also includes a refractometer to measure total solids in blood serum and specific gravity in urine, a microscope to examine ear and skin cytology, centrifuges to prepare blood samples and measure PCV or packed cell volumes (a measure of anemia).

We also have accounts with three diagnostic laboratories so that we can submit tests for cultures, biopsies and any other laboratory test that may be required.  Results from these labs are faxed to our office overnight so you will have the test results the next day.

Rest assured that Mayflower Mobile Veterinary Services offers complete, high-quality and accurate laboratory tests in house as well as through our referral laboratories.

Please feel free to call us if you have any specific questions regarding our laboratory service.

We are happy to serve you and take pride in offering our clients exceptional service.

Digital Radiography
Our mobile hospital is equipped with a digital radiography system that allows us to take radiographs (x-rays) right at your doorstep for an immediate diagnosis.

If your pet suffers a trauma to a leg, we can diagnose the problem and plan treatment immediately.    Chest and abdominal radiographs can also be taken if your pet has a condition in these areas.

Digital dental radiography allows us to properly identify and treat dental conditions.

Since this is a digital system, if your pet requires a referral to a specialist for further procedures or surgery, we can copy the radiographs to a CD and you can take them with you.

During the radiograph procedure, you will be asked to step off the mobile hospital since OSHA regulations require that only hospital personnel are in the immediate vicinity of the machines.

Our staff wears full OSHA regulated lead aprons, lead gloves, lead thyroid shields as well as protective lead eyewear.

We have chosen this digital radiography system so that you and your pet can receive the latest and best diagnostic features right at your doorstep!

Please feel free to contact Mayflower Mobile Veterinary Services if you have any questions about our radiography capabilities or if you would like to make an appointment.
